Harold & Saxon Pocket Scratch Awl 135mm HSS with Gidgee Handle

Harold & Saxon’s Scratch Awl is an heirloom-quality tool handcrafted in Australia and designed for discerning makers everywhere.

Designed to be carried in a pocket or apron to be readily available for constant use, this pocket awl will generally be used for accurate layout and marking – but you’ll find multiple other uses around the workshop.

The awl is 135mm long overall with a handle of 27.5mm diameter at its widest point – the perfect size and shape for holding in the palm of your hand or with a pencil grip.

The polished handle is turned from gidgee and meets the brass ferrule with an almost imperceptible join. The 4mm diameter HSS shank comes to a graceful and very sharp point, and is hard enough to mark most metals as well as any timber, resin, or plastic.
