Narex Half-Round Engineers Files Double-Cut Timber Handle

Files are the unsung heroes of the woodworking workshop.

Available in three sizes, please select your preferred option.

When used for shaping wood, files are finer than rasps, smoothing surfaces in a controlled fashion and refining the form.  They are more economical than disposable abrasives; a well-cared-for file will last a lifetime of woodwork.

Files have a multitude of workshop uses beyond wood shaping. Use them to sharpen your scrapers, to fit and adjust metal or plastic parts for mixed-material projects, to ease plane edges, to remove burrs from hacksawn steel… this list is almost endless.

Narex Engineers Files are beautifully balanced, sharp and precise tools for shaping a wide range of materials. Their timber handles are very comfortable, environmentally friendly, and fitted with solid brass tapered ferrules. The blades are made of carbon steel, heat-treated to 62 HRc. These double-cut files, graded as "medium cut," are coarse enough for material removal and smooth enough for finishing surfaces. The diagonal teeth intersect with a second set, enabling aggressive filing in both directions.

Manufactured entirely in the Czech Republic, Narex files are heirloom tools that will give you years of service.
